The Profanter family welcomes you at the Profanterhof residence in St. Magdalena in the valley of Funes! Book your apartment and spend an unforgettable holiday in our apartment-house in the midst of the Dolomites region in South Tyrol!
Our residence is located on 1240 m above sea level in the beautiful and quiet village of St. Magdalena in the valley of Funes, which stretches from the impressive Odle Peaks to the Eisack valley, of which it is a side valley. Thanks to its beautiful and versatile landscape, the Funes valley is a member of the Alpine Pearls organisation for sustainable tourism.
A holiday flat on a farm in the Dolomites
The Profanterhof residence is run by the members of the Profanter family, who live together on the farm. Apart from cats, rabbits and hens, we also keep calves and pigs, which your children will love to meet.
We have also created a small playground, where your kids can spend time on the swing, on the trampoline – or playing table-top football or ping-pong. In the meantime, you’ll get the chance to relax on our sunbathing lawn.
We also invite you to visit our family’s mountain hut “Gschnagenhardt-Alm”, positioned directly under the Odle Peaks, offering a unique view.
Comfort in your holiday flat in St. Magdalena
When you arrive in St. Magdalena, you can park your car on our on-site parking ground and move into your chosen flat. You can choose from: the room “Cherry” and the seven flats “Geisler”, “Sun”, “Apple”, “Gams”, “Gschnagenhardt”, “Dandelion” and “Swallow’s nest”.
In our 21 to 58 square-metre big flats, couples, families or groups will be able to find the comfort and space to spend a relaxing holiday. All the apartments feature balcony, eat-in kitchen, bathroom and one or more bedrooms. Certainly, a TV and internet access (WI-FI) are available too.
Apart from this, there are a sunbathing lawn with barbecue grill, a recreation room, a washing machine and a tumble dryer at your disposal. Furthermore, you can make use of our bread-milk-egg-service and order fresh products for your breakfast.

St. Magdalena – enchanting in both summer- and wintertime
Whether in autumn, spring, summer or winter – St. Magdalena in the Funes valley is worth a stay during every season. You can find two major places of interest directly in the village of St. Magdalena: one of them is the Church of St. Magdalena and the second the Nature park house Puez Geisler, where you can get a lot of information about the region’s geology, nature and culture.
In spring and summer you can enjoy the wonderful and blossoming landscape hiking on one of the numerous trails, lend a mountain bike or spend some adventurous hours in the crag. The most fearless ones may want to step into Reinhold Messner’s shoes and explore one of the fixed rope routes (vie ferrate) in the Dolomites.
In autumn you have the opportunity to get to know typical customs and traditions of the valley and taste regional delicacies, such as speck, knödel (dumplings) and krapfen (deep-fried dessert).
In winter there are many different ways to enjoy the snow-covered landscape: either at the small skiing area “Filler” in St. Magdalena, on one of the numerous toboggan-runs or on the perfectly groomed cross-country ski-runs in Funes valley.
